Cire Trudon

Not an optical illusion. Just dizzying colors of ... candle tapers displayed against a black wall at one of my favorite shops in Paris, Cire Trudon. In the business of making candles for royalty for over 300 years, this company creates evenly burning vegetable wax candles that last forever and come in out of this world fragrances like Carmelite (think mossy walls in a convent), Odalisque (oriental orange blossom, wood bark and smoke) or La Marquise (giving off a powdery scent of lemon, verbena, rose and white flowers). All their scented candles come in hand made forest green glass holders that are beautiful in their imperfection. The store here in Paris houses a tiny museum upstairs given to all things....candle-like.

It is everything one would expect from a well done shop in Paris.
